‘CHEEP’ WINDOWS FROM SWS.
RSPB Rainham Marshes
SWS have supplied windows and entrance doors to the New Environment and Education Centre for the RSPB at Rainham Marshes, Essex.

The Oslo DX range of laminated timber windows were combined with specialised low-iron / low reflectance and high thermal performance glass to provide an excellent BREEAM rating. Inward opening windows, electrically operated and controlled automatically via a BMS were combined with huge fixed panels to create the viewing area.

The Environment and Education centre provides splendid views across the marshes and River Thames, as well as containing a cafe, shop and classroom. It has been built to the highest environmental standards, with features such as solar panels, rainwater harvesting, natural light and ventilation and a ground source heat exchange system.
